Cayla Brooke is an award-winning Canadian vocalist and songwriter whose music draws from jazz, soul, blues and gospel. After years away from performing, a conversation with her daughter prompted her return to the stage.

Her Eva Cassidy tribute grew into a series of sold-out concerts and led to the release of her debut album, Plush Red Chair. Her original song “When We Danced” won Best Jazz Song at the 2024 InterContinental Music Awards.

Whether performing with a full band or alone at the piano, Cayla combines expressive vocals, humour and personal storytelling to create a genuine connection with her audience.

Cayla Brooke is an award-winning Canadian vocalist and songwriter based in Alberta. Drawing from jazz, soul, blues and gospel, she combines a rich, expressive voice with warmth, humour and a natural ability to connect with an audience.

Cayla began singing as a child but stepped away from performing for several years. A conversation with her daughter challenged her belief that she had become too old to pursue music and prompted her return to the stage.

She created a concert celebrating the music of Eva Cassidy. What began as one show grew into a series of sold-out performances and led to the release of her debut album, Plush Red Chair.
 

No Depression Magazine called Cayla “the real deal,” while Jazz Corner described her as “distinctive and one-of-a-kind.” Her original song “When We Danced” won Best Jazz Song at the 2024 InterContinental Music Awards.

Cayla performs in formats ranging from intimate piano and vocal shows to full-band concerts. Her repertoire blends original music with fresh interpretations of familiar jazz, soul, blues and pop songs.
